The Bacharach PCA 3 is a commercial grade, handheld combustion and emissions analyzer for on-demand or semi-continuous sampling of residential, commercial, light industrial and institutional furnaces, boilers and appliances. The PCA 3 is the perfect tool for service technicians and boiler contractors who need to ensure safe operating conditions, determine combustion efficiency, or perform emissions testing in combustion applications.

The Bacharach PCA 3 portable combustion analyzer directly measures and displays flue gas Oxygen (O2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Stack Temperature, Draft, Differential Pressure, Combustion Air Temperature and optionally measures and displays Nitric Oxide (NO), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2). Simultaneously, the PCA 3 calculates and displays combustion efficiency (EFF), Excess Air (EA), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), NOx and Oxygen reference values. The PCA 3 performs combustion calculations for ten fuels including, Natural Gas, Oil #2, Oil #4, Oil #6, Propane, Coal, Wood, Kerosene, Bagasse and Digester Gas.

The advanced communication features of the PCA 3 combustion analyzers allow the user to store up to 500 tests, customize each combustion test with customer information, generate a personalized printout, and download all of this information to a personal computer for record keeping and trend analysis. The large backlit graphic displays shows eight different measurements and calculated values simultaneously, and also has zoom capabilities.

The PCA 3 sensors are easily accessible, and the carbon monoxide sensor is field replaceable with Bacharach’s pre-calibrated “CO Smart Sensor” module. The CO sensor is also automatically protected against over exposure with a unique “Over-Range” feature. The PCA 3 is covered by a two-year limited factory warranty.

The PCA 3 combustion analyzer includes factory calibrated and installed sensors, probe/hose assembly, probe stop, gas pressure test tubing/fitting, protective instrument boot, USB cable, PC software, four AA batteries, instruction manual, and hard carrying case. Wireless printer is optional (style, part number and features may vary).

NOTE: Instrument temperature is calculated as primary air temperature. In order for the PCA 2 to correctly calculate combustion efficiency when the burner's primary-air temperature is not the same as the room or instrument temperature, the primary-air temperature should be measured using the optional Primary Air Thermocouple (#104-1797).
